Carlisle Society for the Blind offers a wide range of services for people who are blind or partially sighted. This includes home support, assistance with attendance allowance or disability living allowance applications, a resource centre with specialized equipment available for demonstration and purchase to order.

We run several social groups, including dominoes, Macular Disease group, Dual Sensory Loss Group and a computer class.   We run a couple of outings during the summer months and provide a newsletter twice a year in either large print or on tape.

The Society also offers support to those with dual sensory loss (deaf/blind).

We can provide practical training courses for anyone who has an interest in working with visually impaired people or their families.

Our opening hours are Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 11am to 3pm.

Our services cover the area of Carlisle & District.

For further information about our services, please contact us by phone (24 hour answerphone), by e-mail, This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .u,, by letter or in person.
