Eden Housing Association is a successful small independent provider of affordable homes and services with a rural focus.  We currently have 1721 homes in Eden, Carlisle and Allerdale. We aim to be more than a landlord, we have a role to play in building safe and happy neighbourhoods and by supporting the sustainability and growth of rural and market town communities in Cumbria.

Eden Independent Living - supporting independence at home. We offer a full menu of support and personal care services tailored to suit the individual.  We also have a range of telecare, alarm and emergency response options to choose from.

Handy Person Service we have a reliable service you can trust that is perfect for small jobs and minor repairs. It can be difficult and expensive to call out trades people for small jobs, but we have created a local partnership to provide a cost effective Handy Person Service in Eden. Eden Independent Living works with One Call Services, Penrith – a local, reliable maintenance company.

Our Support services include:

… because nothing beats the comfort and freedom of living in your own home

Eden Independent Living Review: This is carried out in your own home by an experienced Independent Living Advisor. It is their job to make sure you have all the relevant information and advice available. They will look at aspects that will enhance your ability to stay at home:

  • Making the most of any financial support and benefits
  • Reviewing need for aids and adaptations
  • Recommendations for practical, social and leisure support
  • Signposting to organisations that can help you
  • Practical Support

Our team can make your daily life more manageable with practical help such as shopping, housework, meal preparation, helping with bills and letters and organising aids and adaptations.

Social and leisure support: You may need help for a one off visit, or perhaps for regular appointments, or sometimes, you may just need companionship at home.  Our friendly, discrete team can accompany you on any appointment – whether a visit to the Doctors, a hospital appointment or taking you to visit friends.

Aids and Adaptations: There are many aids and adaptations for your home, our support team can help organise the right ones – and make sure you are receiving the right level of benefits too.

Home care in Eden  … Friendly, trustworthy and reliable care in your home

Services in rural Eden can sometimes be difficult to access, we work in partnership with Eden Country Care Ltd a local family led organisation based in Great Asby rated “Excellent” by the Care Quality Commission. They employ carers throughout Eden and in to Keswick to ensure a good network of carers we can call on.

Long term or short term or respite care: Whether you have been discharged from hospital and need short term care, or are looking for longer term regular support, we can adapt our service to suit your needs. This includes sit-in care, respite or specialist dementia care giving family carers a little time off.

We offer a wide range of personal, social and practical care; from helping you get up in the morning, personal care, dressings and help with medication, to practical support like cleaning, laundry and meal preparation and social support like helping you get to doctors appointments or meeting up with friends.

Eden Country Care operates a 7 days a week service all year and care visits can be arranged between 7am – 11pm. They can also arrange care visits at short notice.
