Cumbria Action for Sustainability promotes low-carbon living, energy saving and reduced use of fossil fuels throughout Cumbria, by providing information, advice and motivation through educational events, site visits and practical projects.
Helping people to use less energy at home
-
We run the Cumbria Green Build Festival in September each year, showcasing sustainable building methods and materials for low-energy homes.
-
We offer energy checks and audits in the home to spot ways to save energy - from draught proofing and insulation to using LED lightbulbs. We often have schemes offering free products and installation.
-
Factsheets and video guides on our website.
Heling people adapt their homes and community buildings to cope better with extreme weather
Thanks to a grant from the Big Lottery Fund, we're helping households and communities affected by the flooding and other extreme weather to improve resilience and energy use in their buildings. We offer:
-
Workshops & training courses
-
Written guidance in a new factsheet on flood retrofitting
-
Advice drop-in sessions
-
An interactive online guidance tool coming soon
