Who we are?

Tax Help for Older people is a service from the registered charity Tax Volunteers. We provide free, independent and expert help and advice for older people on lower incomes who cannot afford to pay for professional tax advice.

Who do we help?

We provide tax advice for older people (approaching 60 or older) on lower annual incomes (roughly less than £20,000). Those caring for an eligible older person may also request help on their behalf, with their consent.

What do we do?

Our Qualified tax advisers offer friendly, jargon free, independent and confidential advice on personal tax issues. Our helpline team is fully trained in the field of older people's tax and we aim to resolve all queries, however complex. Most tax enquiries can be dealt with by our helpline, but for more complex enquiries or for those needing additional support, we arrange face to face meetings with one of our local volunteer tax advisers. Face to face appointments are by arrangement and are generally held at your local Age UK/Age Concern. If required, we also offer home visits.
