Hearing Impaired Technical Equipment Service (HITES)

This service is available to people with hearing difficulties, usually in a persons home. Office appointments are available on request in our Penrith Office.

The service is delivered by experienced qualified Rehabilitation & Technical Officers, to deaf, hard of hearing and dual sensory service users of all age groups from children to adults.

HITES provide advice and assessment as requested. Assessment is based on Care Act criteria and the promotion of independence and wellbeing.

HITES provide advice and support on other related deaf issues especially relating to Equipment, managing hearing loss, tinnitus, communication with others and Access to Work.

HITES give promotional talks to statutory and voluntary organisations and other external stakeholders.
