PeerTalk is a project, currently funded by the Methodist Church, which aims to support individuals who are affected by depression.

PeerTalk is establishing volunteer facilitated peer support groups. At these meetings group members will offer support and encouragement from their own experience of living with depression.  We intend to start such a group in Carlisle later this year.

PeerTalk’s aims include raising awareness about depression and challenging the stigma often associated with it.

PeerTalk’s regional Awareness Events provide information about a range of mental health conditions but particularly about depression, encourage good practice in communicating with and supporting people who live with mental health  conditions and how to signpost people to mental health services if necessary.
